How often do you find yourself focused on the negative things that are occurring in your life? As animals, our brain is wired to focus on the things that cause our system to experience stress. This is a primal survival mechanism that we have hardwired into us to help us register threats to avoid danger, ultimately increasing our survival rates. Even though this hardwiring was once an extremely useful mechanism to protect us from getting killed by a tiger, it has now become an alarm system that has us producing high levels of stress hormones in response to something as silly as a person cutting us off on the road. With this knowledge of our survival mechanisms in mind, we could say that it’s normal to be inclined to only focus on the negatives. However, it’s not something that we want to accept as our natural state because as humans we have the power to redirect our focus and create new thought patterns that positively affect our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Of all the spiritual practices out there that can help change our thought-patterns, gratitude happens to be one of the most simple (AND POWERFUL!) practices to connect with and yet the most overlooked. In this 4-week virtual journey, we’ll meet every Saturday morning in sacred circle to harness the power of gratitude, together. All you have to do is grab a cup of tea, light a candle, bring a journal and SHOW UP! You’ll be guided through gratitude practices that you can implement into your daily life, given the space to reflect on all the small and big miracles that took place during your week and connect with other women who want to celebrate your success. Is it possible to do this work alone? Absolutely! But as you know, there is strength in community my friends!
